But what will I get?

We already said that the telecomHall portal has what you can not find anywhere else, but it is difficult to imagine in practice what it means. We present alongside some of the modules that will be described in detail in the tutorials, always with the provision of commented code, and with all the support.

You don't need to know any of the software that we use to build the system, such as Access, Excel, Mapinfo, Google Earth and many others. Nor need to program, even having made any Excel macro till today. Everything will be presented to you in a simple and gradual way. Simply follow the instructions you will be able to develop applications incredibly powerful!

The order in which they appear in the Roadmap do not necessarily correspond to the order in which they are published, since our methodology goal is to meet the needs of members, ie the order can be amended, and other solutions / modules that are not in this for example may be included (published).

Tips

Great tips on the best free programs to do just about anything you need, the best sites to your Favorites and those tricks that people who have it don't gives to anyone, here you can! The tips will be published in parallel with the blog, mostly related to the content they're studying at the moment. TIPS.

BLOG

To read BLOG and all tutorials, simply first register as free MEMBER on the site - create login and password. Don't worry, it's fast.

Unfortunately, codes and support are available only to SUBSCRIBERS. As you may probably know, these kind of tools are valuable and useful, and usually nobody share their developments. We would like to share, but it wouldn't be fair to all present subscribers that keep the project running. Please, don't get us wrong, we just would like you to understand. Anyway, feel free to read the tips & tricks that you can use in your own macros and programs. We're sure you're going to find it useful - a lot of people has done it.

NOTE: When you become a SUBSCRIBER, you can access BLOG and TIPS, but will only receive tutorials published after the date you became a subscriber (we actually have a small tolerance of few previous tutorials). This is a matter of fairness to the other subscribers who have contributed to every published tutorial.

So, don't wait another day, the value is symbolic - too small, and worth it. Think about it: A single parcel of any course like Excel you pay is more then you will probably contribute for years as a contributor (subscriber). And always know that you can cancel your subscription to any fair point: you subscribe yourself, and yourself can cancel it! Your satisfaction is guaranteed.

Concepts and Definitions

We start with a general introduction to the methodology, and the system - Hunter Tool - that will be created and developed together. Here we learn some concepts and definitions essential for we to start the project. We also know some main softwares used, as the structure of files & folders, and how are solutions created, among others.

Hunter Network

Thus we proceeded to the first module of Hunter Tool. It will serve as an important basis for several other applications. Here we learn how to store information from our network sites on a professional manner. All data of our network, as well as all data used in any module will always be fictitious, so we'll define data info as sites, latitude, longitude, antennas, azimuth, and many others. When necessary this table will be updated with the addition of new fields needed for other applications. We'll also learn a few concepts of Access, always stated in a very simple and easy way to understand.

Hunter GE Network (Sites)

First module that interacts with Google Earth (referred as GE). From the Network module, we will see how to plot the information from sites with that fantastic tool for geo-referencing studies. We learn a little more on the concept of the Hunter tool structure, some new concepts on Access and also Google Earth.

Hunter GE Network (Sectors)

We continue extending GE Network Module, now including the lines of the sectors. Also a few more concepts of Access. Note: You can create symbols such as petals to represent the sectors, instead of rows - and we'll still do it. But you will notice that the lines have some advantages, especially when we have more than one technology in our network, like GSM, CMDA or UMTS, thus minimizing the problems of overlap. And also it's faster to load.

Hunter GE Network (Legend - Folder - Info)

Another improvement of GE Network module - we'll learn how to get information by clicking the end (point) of a sector (this is not possible using Google Earth main interface), showing important data as azimuth, tilts and aerials. Also, learn to create a legend for the data, and how to organize information using folders in Google Earth. All done automatically by the program that we develop together!

Mapinfo Network

Quick Overview of Mapinfo. Learn some useful tips from this great tool, and how to use it in Network Analysis. One powerful tool for geo-referencing, and also widely used by Telecom & IT Professionals.

Hunter Mapinfo Network VBA Automation

Our first module with Mapinfo (MI). Mapinfo has a programming language - Mapbasic. We will see what it can do to help us later, but today we'll learn that we can use Mapbasic through VBA!

Drive Test - Mapinfo & Google Earth

A great use of Mapinfo and Google Earth is to plot of Test Drive - data collected. Get a introduction to what a drive test is, and learn how to plot drive test data. Manually, through Mapbasic, or other code, it is easy transform exported data (text or Excel format) into plots. Again, we use dummy data collected drive test.

Digital Data

You can't work with Telecom & IT without using Data (altimetry, clutter, vectors, etc.).. When using programs like Google Earth, this kind of information comes with it, but for other GIS programs such as prediction tools or Mapinfo, we need to get it. Here we will see how to get data pretty accurate and free!

Hunter Mapbasic PlotSector (Petals)

Here we learn a little more of Mapbasic. How to draw sectors as regions - petals - instead of lines like we did before.

Hunter Mail

A very nice feature to have in Access (and any other program that uses VBA) is to send reports using via e-mail. Let's learn how to do it, and how to send reports formatted for a specific list of people.

Hunter GE Network (Multi-Tech)

At this point, we'll include more than one technology in our network, i.g. GSM & UMTS or CDMA. Then see how to plot this information in the same file.

Hunter GE Drive Test (signal level)

Drive Test data can also be plotted on Google Earth from the data in Text or Excel format. This module shows how to do this automatically, and plots according to a range of colors that can configure. Here we see how to plot the data automatically for the very basic measure: the signal level.

KPI Intro

The main goal of our system is to improve the network, and this is seen through the KPI - Key Performance Indicators. Examples of KPI's are traffic, dropped calls, etc.. We will see how to deal with these data (fictitious) in Access, finding offenders of Network.

Hunter KPI

Access is a database and its main function as the database is to collect data for reporting periods. We learn here accumulate data KPI whenever we make a load (import) data for our database.

Hunter Interface

From a very simple way, learn to build interfaces that help us interact with data among various Hunter Modules.

Hunter GE Drive Test (Melhor Servidor)

Besides the plot ranges from thematic (color), we can plot individual information in Google Earth. This applies for example to better maps server, where each sector has a different value - and we have a large number of sectors! Let's see how.

Hunter KPI (Base Tables)

Access is a database and its main function as the database is to collect data for reporting periods. Let us learn here accumulate data KPI whenever we make a load (import) data for our database.

Mapinfo KPI

We can plot the data of the KPI's thematically in Mapinfo. Furthermore, the data can be exported to images that can be used in other reports. Let's see how. Today we want to learn this concept.

These were the tutorials published so far. Do not accumulate, there's no sense in leaving it to read later hundreds and hundreds of pages at once.

The tutorials below are ready to be published, but the order can be changed according to the request of subscribers, and new may be added - as our team write new ones, and also if requested by subscribers. Read, participate, learn. We're here to help you, but the initiative must come from you!

Hunter Reports (Reports)

Periodically we need to send reports on our network. Let's learn how to generate the report in Excel from the data we have stored in our database (Network).

Hunter GE TX

Module to generate information from our network of transmission. Again, dummy data to define the links, and plotting them on Google Earth.

Hunter Updater

No matter which or how many other proprietary tools you use, such as Test Drive Software and prediction or entries - always need to update them. In this module, we generate files to update these data, from the information we have on our existing modules. Let's learn how to automatically update files in CSV, Excel, Text, XML, among others.

Hunter GE Prediction

We have been using Google Earth to visualize the data from our network, and our drive tests. Let's see how to see the data prediction as well.

Hunter Parser

Parser - application that handles the data in a nonstandard format, and returns them in the desired format, usually in tabular form. Let's see how to make a parser for processing of files with different formats, for example an output file from a program management fictional network, and transform into a format suitable for import (and subsequent treatment).

Hunter Regulator

Regulators of the country always require specific reports, with information such as power density, the radiating system, etc.. Here is an application that generates a report output and complete, including graphics, and can be formatted according to need.

Hunter KPI Rank

We have seen how to check the offenders through the Top N worst cases of each KPI. Let's now learn a way more interesting to check the network through the creation of a rank involving all key indicators.

Hunter KPI Delta

In addition to the Top N, and rank, another interesting way to verify the network is by checking the abnormal changes that have occurred. Let's see how to do this easily in Access.

Hunter Dump

For many systems, the data may have their regularly scheduled departure to a particular place for example via ftp, so we only need to point our parsers to seek these files, process them and import them. In other cases however, this is not so easy. Find a way to get the data automatically to whatever the system, however complex it is!

Hunter Parameters

Every network has a HUGE amount of parameters. It is very important that we have a place to store such data, where they can be easily accessed for analysis, reports and updates from other applications.

Hunter Check

Having the stored data helps a lot. However, with the daily changes, check what was modified, and make sure everything is as it should is not easy. Let's see how to do this automatically, through consultation and consistency checks.

Hunter Check Audit

Using data from the stored data, and knowing what value each parameter should have (that also store in a lookup table) can do a full scan and automatically in all parameters all the available tables. As a result, a report tells us what is wrong and should be corrected.

Hunter Rep

In addition to BTS / NodeB's, our networks work with repeaters or boosters. We will see how to create an application that automatically checks to availability of equipment, simply by having a number for remote access.

Hunter OtherNetworks

information is important to know what the other operators, either for strategic reasons, or these days, to request shares. There are several sources of information, official or not, the location of sites of all operators. Let's see how to fetch and process information.

Hunter QuickTables (i.g. BSIC x BCCH)

Our data network is already available - Hunter module parameters. However, often have the need for a quick, especially when we are in some work in the field. We see here how to generate as an example of tables with information x BSIC BCCH. So, when we are in the field, and verify that the BCCH and BSIC quickly know what the server industry.

Hunter XLS

We often need to make reports to suit different areas and people. This module is easily generate custom reports in Excel.

Hunter GE Complaints

Learn how to check efficiently the evolution of customer complaints. We will see how to plot in Google Earth and using symbols and colors for a full preview of complaints and Technology by Status and Type (Data or Voice).

Hunter Handover

Check efiencentemente relations Handover, both on the same technology as in different technologies. Let's use some algorithms and cross checking of modules Parameters, Network and KPI.

Hunter Survey

What is a RF Survey? What are the standard documents that must be generated and stored? Know what is really needed, and how to organize the data stored.

Hunter Common

Some modules Hunter must use the same data. In order to eliminate any redundancy, we created this module to store the tables with data common to more than one module.

Hunter GE Benchmarking

Let's compare two or more plots in Google Earth at the same time?

Hunter GE Generic

For our analysis, the output of the module GE netwrok is more than enough. But we can create geo-referenced in several other formats, such as using symbols, regions, etc.. In this module, we build a true multi-tool for the GE.

Hunter MI KPI

We can plot the data of the KPI's thematically in Mapinfo. Furthermore, the data can be exported to images that can be used in other reports. Let's see how - automacally!

Hunter GE KPI

We have learned how to analyze network performance through KPI's. But why not plotted them geo-referenced in Google Earth? Module with an excellent way of analysis of KPI's.

Hunter GE Parameters

The parameters of our network are already stored. And until analyzed and treated. How about now plotted them on Google Earth?

Hunter Handover GE

We have seen how to analyze the Handovers network handover module. Learn a new way of analyzing Handover, now in Google Earth.

Hunter Charts

A graph is worth a thousand words, as the saying popular. And if in addition these charts are generated automatically, and fairly easy to interpret, how much then? Let's see how to generate charts automatically in Excel format and image, for example JPG.

Hunter KPI Charts

A graph says more than many words. But having to redo the chart whenever the data change is not necessary. Let's see how to generate advanced graphics models for our analysis.

Hunter GE KPI Charts

Once we have generated graphics in one spot, we can make a link to them, and visualize directly in Google Earth, for example while clicking on the edge of a sector.

Hunter KPI Mail

We already know many ways of dealing with our KPI data, for example through the Top N or rank. And also we know how to send an e-mail through Access or Excel. Let us now see how to send an e-mail to a list of people with the information formatted

Hunter Plan

Planning Network. What can be automated? Know that module.

Hunter CAPEX

We created this module a tool that helps us for example in estimating the cost of a new network element.

Hunter Help

We should keep all documents provided an appropriate place, and that is the goal of the module Help. Furthermore, we will learn to create help documents like the style of Windows Help Docs, very professional.

Hunter Scripter

For activations, changes, deactivations, and changes in network elements,

Hunter MI FreqPlan

A tool that allows frequency analysis in Mapinfo. Module in Mapbasic.

Hunter GE - Working Network

Excellent way to work with the data network, using files generated by our tools.

...

We'll not extend more with the presentation of other modules. This is because to continue presenting the new modules, much of the far presented must be well understood. In the future, will relate some more.
