We already said that the telecomHall portal has what you can not find anywhere else, but it is difficult to imagine in practice what it means. We present alongside some of the modules that will be described in detail in the tutorials, always with the provision of commented code, and with all the support.

You don't need to know any of the software that we use to build the system, such as Access, Excel, Mapinfo, Google Earth and many others. Nor need to program, even having made any Excel macro till today. Everything will be presented to you in a simple and gradual way. Simply follow the instructions you will be able to develop applications incredibly powerful!

The order in which they appear in the Roadmap do not necessarily correspond to the order in which they are published, since our methodology goal is to meet the needs of members, ie the order can be amended, and other solutions / modules that are not in this for example may be included (published).

Unfortunately, codes and support are available only to SUBSCRIBERS. As you may probably know, these kind of tools are valuable and useful, and usually nobody share their developments. Concepts and Definitions

We start with a general introduction to the methodology, and the system - Hunter Tool - that will be created and developed together. Here we learn some concepts and definitions essential for we to start the project. We also know some main softwares used, as the structure of files & folders, and how are solutions created, among others.


Hunter Network

Thus we proceeded to the first module of Hunter Tool. It will serve as an important basis for several other applications. Here we learn how to store information from our network sites on a professional manner. All data of our network, as well as all data used in any module will always be fictitious, so we'll define data info as sites, latitude, longitude, antennas, azimuth, and many others. When necessary this table will be updated with the addition of new fields needed for other applications. We'll also learn a few concepts of Access, always stated in a very simple and easy way to understand.


Hunter GE Network (Sites)

First module that interacts with Google Earth (referred as GE). From the Network module, we will see how to plot the information from sites with that fantastic tool for geo-referencing studies. We learn a little more on the concept of the Hunter tool structure, some new concepts on Access and also Google Earth.

Hunter GE Network (Sectors)

We continue extending GE Network Module, now including the lines of the sectors. Also a few more concepts of Access. Note: You can create symbols such as petals to represent the sectors, instead of rows - and we'll still do it. But you will notice that the lines have some advantages, especially when we have more than one technology in our network, like GSM, CMDA or UMTS, thus minimizing the problems of overlap. And also it's faster to load.


Hunter GE Network (Legend - Folder - Info)

Another improvement of GE Network module - we'll learn how to get information by clicking the end (point) of a sector (this is not possible using Google Earth main interface), showing important data as azimuth, tilts and aerials. Also, learn to create a legend for the data, and how to organize information using folders in Google Earth. All done automatically by the program that we develop together!


Mapinfo Network

Quick Overview of Mapinfo. Learn some useful tips from this great tool, and how to use it in Network Analysis. One powerful tool for geo-referencing, and also widely used by Telecom & IT Professionals.


Hunter Mapinfo Network VBA Automation

Our first module with Mapinfo (MI). Mapinfo has a programming language - Mapbasic. We will see what it can do to help us later, but today we'll learn that we can use Mapbasic through VBA!


Drive Test - Mapinfo & Google Earth

A great use of Mapinfo and Google Earth is to plot of Test Drive - data collected. Get a introduction to what a drive test is, and learn how to plot drive test data. Manually, through Mapbasic, or other code, it is easy transform exported data (text or Excel format) into plots. Again, we use dummy data collected drive test.


Digital Data

You can't work with Telecom & IT without using Data (altimetry, clutter, vectors, etc.).. When using programs like Google Earth, this kind of information comes with it, but for other GIS programs such as prediction tools or Mapinfo, we need to get it. Here we will see how to get data pretty accurate and free!


Hunter Mapbasic PlotSector (Petals)

Here we learn a little more of Mapbasic. How to draw sectors as regions - petals - instead of lines like we did before.


Hunter Mail

A very nice feature to have in Access (and any other program that uses VBA) is to send reports using via e-mail. Let's learn how to do it, and how to send reports formatted for a specific list of people.


Hunter GE Network (Multi-Tech)

At this point, we'll include more than one technology in our network, i.g. GSM & UMTS or CDMA. Then see how to plot this information in the same file.


Hunter GE Drive Test (signal level)

Drive Test data can also be plotted on Google Earth from the data in Text or Excel format. This module shows how to do this automatically, and plots according to a range of colors that can configure. Here we see how to plot the data automatically for the very basic measure: the signal level.


KPI Intro

The main goal of our system is to improve the network, and this is seen through the KPI - Key Performance Indicators. Examples of KPI's are traffic, dropped calls, etc.. We will see how to deal with these data (fictitious) in Access, finding offenders of Network.


Hunter KPI

Access is a database and its main function as the database is to collect data for reporting periods. We learn here accumulate data KPI whenever we make a load (import) data for our database.
